Prof. Zhigeng Pan, Ph.D., Chief Scientist of National Key Research And Development Program, Vice
President of China Academy of Graphics, Vice President of China Virtual Reality and Visualization
Innovation Technology Strategy Alliance, Director of Digital Media And Human-Computer Interaction
Research Center in Hangzhou Normal University, Director of Guangdong Virtual Reality Industry
Research Institute.
In research of virtual reality, human-computer interaction, graphics and digital entertainment,
he undertook and completed 2 key projects of the national natural science foundation, 2 National
science and technology support program, 1 “863” high-tech project etc., published more
than 80 papers in international journal PAMI/TVCG/CGF/IEEE CG&A/CAD and international conference
ACM Multimedia/IEEE VR, and has high international reputation and academic influence. One paper
published on TVCG in 2012 has become 1% of the most cited papers in the world; One paper
published in C&G in 2006 has become the top 50 papers (ranked seventh) of all computer papers
published by ScienceDirect since 2005 by Chinese authors.
Due to Prof. Pan’s outstanding contribution in virtual reality and computer graphics, he
got Second Prize of China University Science And Technology Progress Award (Natural Science
Category) in 2001, Second Prize of National Science And Technology Progress Award (ranked third) in
2008, First Prize of Shanghai Science And Technology Progress Award in 2011, Second Prize of
Zhejiang Science And Technology Progress (Natural Science) in 2015, Zhejiang Natural Science
Foundation Outstanding Youth Fund Project and Ministry of Education Outstanding Young Teachers
Teaching and Research Award Program (New Century Talent Program) in 2000, and 2002-2005/2013-2016
served as Zhejiang special professor for the second time (Qianjiang Scholars)
