2013 China Academic Conference on Food Packaging Held in Tianjin
In order to achieve energy conservation in food packaging industry, develop the green and low-carbon economy, enhance capacity for sustainable development and promote research innovations and academic exchanges, 2013 China Academic Conference on Food Packaging which is jointly organized by China Academy of Printing Technology and Tianjin University of Science & Technology, hosted by the editorial board of China Printing and Packaging Study and College of Packaging & Printing Engineering of Tianjin University of Science and Technology held in Tianjin in November 23-25, 2013.

Wonderful keynote speechThe conference was divided into the keynote speech and panel discussion. Keynote speech hosted by professor CHEN Yun-zhi, the dean of the School of Packaging and Printing Engineering, Tianjin University of Science and Technology at afternoon in November 23. Organizers leaders including ZHANG Ai-hua, the secretary of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, CHU Ting-liang, the Vice President of China Academy of Printing Technology and MA Shu-xin, the Secretary-General of Tianjin Packaging Technology Association attended the conference and addressed.
Keynote speeches including “Safety and Regulations: The Challenges for Food Packaging” “Research on Application of Nano Bio-based Materials in Functional Packaging” and “IOT and Its Applications in Food Safety” made by Dr. Ngamtip Poovarodom, Associate Professor of Department of Packaging and Materials Technology of Faculty of Agro-Industry of Kasetsart University,Professor Luciano Piergiovanni from the Department of Food of Environmental and Nutritional Sciences of Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, University of Milan and Dr. MA Yong-jun, the Vice Dean of School of Computer Science and Information Engineering (SCSIE), Tianjin University of Science and Technology, respectively. These latest developments and research results aroused great interest of the participants who made an animated and lively discussion during the conference.

Doctor MA Yong-jun from made keynote speech.Panel Discussion was held on November 24, the delegates exchanged the papers around the themes of "Prepress Processing Technology" "Printing Process and Control" "Printing Ink Technology" "Paper Materials Technology" "Film Materials Technology" "Packaging Design and Engineering Technology" "Detection Technology of Harmful Substances in Food Packaging" and "Packaging Logistics and Traceability Technology". The professors and experts from the packaging and printing field commented on these papers in-depth and discussed with the authors. The conference was filled with strong academic atmosphere.

Packaging Logistics and Traceability Technology SeminarOn the third day, in order to share the latest developments and testing technology in food packaging, the participants were organized to visited the Airbus A320 Final Assembly Line, Yili Industrial Group Company (Tianjin) to learn the advanced food packaging production lines, food safety testing technologies and equipments in the production of food safety.
Participants visited Yili Industrial Group Company (Tianjin)The conference discussed comprehensive research topics of the current food packaging and printing field, 200 teachers from nearly 40 universities, research institutes and related to food packaging business attended the meeting. 180 papers were received from more than 30 domestic and international packaging and printing-related institutions, and ultimately preferred the 100 papers after three rigorous evaluations published by the "Applied Mechanics and Materials". Another part of the excellent papers were recommended to the SCI Source Journal.
