    •  Keynote Speaker: Luciano Piergiovanni
       Luciano Piergiovanni,  born in 1950. He is Full Professor of "Food Science & Technology" in the National University of Milan. He develops his activity of teaching and research in the Department of Food, Environmental and Nutritional Sciences, within the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences from 1975. Currently teaches Food Packaging and Food Logistics in the University of Milan and in the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Pollenzo (CN). His main fields of research are in Food packaging, Active Packaging, Modified Atmosphere packaging, Shelf life studies. He has been visiting professor in the Universities of San Paolo (Brasil) in 1990 and 1995 and Universidad Nacional de Colombia Bogotà (Colombia) in 1986 and 1995. He co-ordinated research teams in projects sponsored by National Institutions (CNR, MIUR) and European Union. He is the President of the Italian Scientific Group for Food Packaging (GSICA) from 1999, Director of the Graduate School of Molecular Sciences and Plant, Food and Environmental Biotechnology since 2011, Head of the Agro-Food Technical Commission, within the Italian Standards Organization from December 2011. Belongs to Italian Society of Food Science and Technology Professors (SISTAL), The Italian Scientific Group for Food Packaging (GSICA), Italian Association of Food Technology (AITA) and to the Editorial Boards of the following scientific Journals: Packaging Technology and Science, Industria Conserve, Croatian Journal of Food Science and Technology, Food Packaging and Shelf Life. He is author of two text books on food packaging, 6 chapters in international text books, 7 patents in the packaging field and more than 250 works among scientific publications, communications to conferences, technical and popular articles.
